The retirement of our Executive Vice President and Broker, Peter Best, is a bittersweet moment for the team at Magnum York and me personally. He led our transition to the join the Associa family of companies and eventually dialed back his involvement and took on a mentor roll in recent years. The last couple of years where we essentially switched roles was particularly helpful as Peter wholeheartedly supported the transition to my leadership.

For nearly 20 years, Peter was not only the leader of Magnum and its acquired companies but also the visionary and personality that grew the company across Alberta. As the Broker for both real estate and condo he oversaw our growth during a tumultuous time for our industry. His energy, enthusiasm and good humour helped our team manage in our fast paced and often stressful industry. After decades of hard work building our company, we look forward to see what adventure he takes on next.

This is not so much a new beginning for Magnum York as it is a continuation. I am delighted to formally present our leadership team that will guide us through this phase as we strive to sustain and build upon our success across Alberta.

Karri will continue to lead our teams as she takes on the co-Broker role and ensures that we meet our legal compliance. While based primarily in our central Alberta office, Karri will be taking on many of Peter’s responsibilities and focusing on processes and procedures across our branch offices. Leveraging her extensive experience, Karri’s guidance will prove invaluable as we navigate changes in the market and address the increasing demands on our industry within Alberta’s growing population.

Michelle continues to lead our top-tier accounting team. Under her guidance, the team will persist in delivering timely and precise financial reporting for all clients across both of our brokerages. Her unwavering commitment and diligent efforts will serve as an inspiring example to her team in every office. Her commitment to continual learning allows her to update processes in her department while embracing technology advancements. At the same time, she strives to provide hands on mentorship to her team.

Josh joined our team in 2024 and took on the role of leading our Edmonton office and team. This provided stability in our Edmonton branch office and built connection with our team there. His presence sustained client retention while also stimulating market growth for Magnum York. After joining our leadership team, he completed his licensing requirements to take on the additional role of Broker for our legal compliance. Most recently, Josh is taken on leadership and accountability for training and guiding our condominium managers and team. His energy and enthusiasm has already had a positive impact.

After successfully running our satellite branch in Olds for many years, Ginny decided to move to be closer to family and work out of our Calgary office. This was a perfect opportunity for her to add leading our large Calgary team to her existing role leading operations and business development for our rental business. Having her here in the Calgary main office also provides an additional layer of accountability for our clients while adding in person support for our managers and staff. Despite wearing many “hats”, Ginny’s natural enthusiasm and empathy has helped our Calgary team come together.

As we move through 2026, we are excited to “re-introduce” our leadership team — Karri Anaka, Michelle Ukass, Josh Dingreville and Ginny Davis. Their wealth of expertise and commitment to excellence positions Magnum York for continued success and growth. As we continue to grow our market share throughout Alberta we are optimistic about the prosperous future that lies ahead under the capable guidance of our leadership team.
